Personal Noise Dosimetry
This enables us to accurately monitor an individuals actual Personal Noise Exposure over the working day. A very compact, wearable device known as a DataLogging Noise Dosimeter is worn by the individual and this automatically logs the noise exposure over a working shift.
The resulting data is then downloaded to a computer programme that analyses the results and provides both a numerical and graphical printout of the noise levels experienced over the day. If the worker is able to keep his own log of the tasks that he has been involved with during the day, then it is possible to compare the results printout with the tasks to see exactly when the potential noise problems occur.
This is an incredibly useful and powerful tool in providing accurate, and individual noise exposure data and this can be particularly useful in planning a hearing conservation programme and in selecting appropriate hearing protection.
